Cinema-hopping

Helloo, so I watched 2 movies with Steph yesterday, "X-Men: The Last Stand" and "Good Night, and Good Luck". In two different cinemas haha. (Both movies are fantastic in their own ways... and are reviewed below). Due to a special reason (haha) we decided to watch the movies in two different cinemas. We watched X-men in Lido Shaw Centre, while we caught Good Night in the new Cathay. You see, Good Night is only shown in the new Cathay haha, so we are forced to make our way there (by the way, this is not the special reason! haha)

Today, for no apparent reason, I thought of what it would be like if I were mad enough to cinema-hopped more than 2 cinemas. So I started thinking maybe this could be the plan:

Great Wall (Golden Village)----(shuttle bus)-->Lido Shaw Centre---(public bus)-->Cathay Cineplex at Orchard---(public bus)--->Plaza Singapura (Golden Village)---->the new Cathay

okay that is kinda enough I think... if you'd like some more cinemas...

Great Wall (Golden Village)----(shuttle bus)-->Lido Shaw Centre---(public bus)-->Cathay Cineplex at Orchard---(public bus)--->Plaza Singapura (Golden Village)---->the new Cathay--(public bus)-->Suntec City (Eng Wah)--(walk)-->Marina Square (Golden Village)

Total cost: $67.85 (weekends movie charge and has included bus fares)
Time: 14 hours (about 2 hours per movie)
If you start at 10 am in the morning, you'll end at about 4-5 am in the next morning haha. I guess midnight movies can't be helped then. Then must eat dinner and lunch in the cinema as you watched the movie haha. Okay, the plan can at least be carried out at less than a day =D

(you can add some more if you want.. haha)

If you want to visit one cinema per one cinema company...

Great Wall (Golden Village)----(shuttle bus)-->Lido Shaw Centre---(public bus)---->the new Cathay--(public bus)-->Suntec City (Eng Wah)

(again, adjust accordingly..)

So, do you think that anybody will be crazy enough to do 7-cinema-hopping in a day?

Except for Eng Wah, whose service I've never tried before, I recommend the 3 cinemas above for the other 3 cinema companies =)

Anyway, enough cinema-talking. I'd like to do a quiz.. but I guess I'll save it for the next journal haha.

Later =)

Movie Review
X-Men: The Last Stand (7.0 stars out of 10)
An entertaining, action-packed movies. WARNING: some sad scenes in the movie. So if you're an emotional person (like me), bring at least a pack of tissues. In my opinion, however, there are too many outcomes and suprises in this movie, until at the end of the movie, *SPOILERS* when Magneto lost his power *SPOILERS END*, I was not surprised at all. Hmm.. in the end note, I still prefer X2.

Good Night and Good Luck (7.0 stars out of 10)
First of all, George Clooney doesn't look great here. So, the good rating is not because of him. Okay, be warned. If you're the kind of person who has short attention span for conversations, and doesn't like listening to too much conversations in movies, then this movie is not for you. Okay, let me start talking about the reasons why I like this movie. Very nice dialogue lines, and I think black and white is a perfect choice for the theme of the movie. I like the cinematography of this film tooo! It kinda inspires me to take more black and white pictures haha. David Straithan's acting is superb and his Oscar nomination was well-deserved. There are some clips in the movie which I cannot really hear properly, since the quality of the audio cannot be helped (it's the original clips of the events. oh ya. YES, this movie is based on a true story). Other than that, my attention is on the rest of the movies (and yes, I didn't fall asleep).

Something About Lost...

To people who are living in Singapore, watch next week's Lost and this verse will be familiar to you =)

Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for His name's sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

I realise that my school's principal has read this before in the morning devotion haha.

Tomorrow will be my Sculpture Square CIP day. Hopefully it'll all go well (and that the kids will love it haha). We are doing 3 children stories, namely Emperor's New Clothes, Hanzel and Gretel and Three Little Pigs. I'll be playing the little girl who touches the Emperor in Emperor's New Clothes. Honestly, I think Hanzel and Gretel is the funniest out of 3. Some people know why =)

Have a good holiday people. Later =)

May The Force Be With Me

Hello peeps. So, I've finally bought the coldplay tickets on Monday. Yayyyyyy! =D =D I'm going with my bestie primary school pal, Jessica. Hopefully we'll be able to work out the queuing up plan sooon. (To be honest, I'm curious of how Chris Martin looks in real life. Those eyes of his are wonders.. And Steph, I decide to change my thought. He's not babyfaced haha)

These past few days have been really interesting. On Monday, I saw 2 of my eyecandies! Haha. In the library. The first one I saw was one of my Drama seniors haha and he was studying in the library. So, I purposely do not sit in the direction facing him because I know if i do, I will be very very distracted, and yeah, my study plans will be ruined haha. And then, guess what, another eyecandy came up about 15 minutes later and sit across me haha. So I only needed to turn my head 45 degrees of angle to see him haha. At least I'm not that distracted =)

And then, like this week, I found bothe of their Friendster accounts hahaha. This event is really amusing and weird...

And then, I saw one selling ice-cream as part of his recess duty. I contemplated of buying ice cream for him, but in the end, when I finally made up my mind, I decided not too haha. Too shy lahhh...

These past few weeks taught me to realise that there are some friends, whom no matter how much you tried to be close to, will never be your close friends. I don't know why, but there are some people whom I was quite pi**ed about lately, mainly because I just disagree with their thoughts haha. I think it's really sad that I only have 2 or 3 close friends in my life. Whether the number will ever grow, only time will tell..

Sigh.. the downs of life.

What the.....

Sighhhh.. I'm in school at the moment. I feel rather depressed now haha... because yesterday my group did and discussed Group Project Proposal for Project Work yesterday, and me and Emmalyne typed out the thing. Then, we forgot to attach it to the emails that we sent to the group members, including mine. Sigh sigh sigh. Then we're supposed to discuss it today, but since we have no copy of it, I guess we'll have another online conference hahaha.

The long weekend went rather okay. I watched Mission Impossible 3 on Friday with Tomatoe and Ladder 49 with Steph. Okay to be honest, I never expected Ladder 49 to be sooo boring that I dozed off haha. About the last quarter of the show, I slept and Stephanie caught me sleeping hahaha *moment of embarrassment* Hey, I'm supposed to stay up throughout the whole movie since my handsome is in there right? Hahahaha ^-^ I thought I have high tolerance for boring movies (evidence: the aviator hahaha). And so, I can conclude that my boredom tolerance level does flunctuate over time, over place, and over mood.. hahahaha =D

(both movies are reviewed below..)

Movie Reviews
Mission Impossible 3 (6.5 stars out of 10)
An action-packed movies with continuous tense and exciting moments haha. One of the reasons why I want to watch MI:3 is because I want to see Tom Cruise sane haha. I've not seen him quite sane for a long time now, after all the Tom-Kat hoopla yesterday. A must-watch movie for action movie lovers.

Ladder 49 (6.0 stars out of 10)
To be honest, this is the worst movie I've watched this year so far. I really have higher expectation for the movie. The movie is more about Joaquin's character's life, not the firefighters. Hey, for a movie which is supposed to be about firefighters, Backdraft is so much better. Joaquin was also not much of a help =(

Random..

I thought that "No Bravery" by James Blunt is nice in a sad way...

I'm not really into gossipping, so... now you know why I sometimes keep quiet in conversations =)

I don't have time to study at home because of the tight schedule for drama rehearsals, and that's why I mug in school a lot..

I'm not really into people-watching in void deck as well..

So, do you have a better idea of me now? =) No answers needed.

My maths test has now been rescheduled to June, and now it'll include tutorials 1 to 8. So should I be happy or sad?

Today, during the dinner with the foreign scholars, I realise how little Indonesians there are in Arts stream. Sad eh? I managed to talk to one Indonesian scholar (he had never seen me before haha..).

We are young, we run green,
Keep our teeth, nice and clean,
See out friends, see the sights
Feel alright!
Supergrass- Alright

I never thought that this song is about marijuana hahaha. It sounds so cheerful. Now the green part makes sense...
Anyway, I still like it =)
Have a great weekend peeps!

The Lady Should Stay in the Water

Hello.. it's been ages since my last entry. So, what have I been up to lately? Well, mainly drama rehearsals, project work meetings (sigh), tests, and more drama rehearsals. The SYF for drama will be next Wednesday. So exciting! At last, after that I'll get to relax more. Though I've signed up for CIP Drama project for Sculpture Carnival in the 27th May. Anyway, the rehearsals won't be as demanding as now I believe =)

Anyway, I hate the fact that I have to miss Maths tests next Wednesday. Why? Cause I heard that the retest, which may be scheduled on June, will test tutorial 1 to 8. What the heck? The test is supposed to be of tutorial 5,6 and 8 only. Sighhh... hopefully I can re-schedule the test and take it at an earlier day (Monday). Wish me luck tomorrow for my conversation with the HOD of Maths (hopefully nothing weird or outrageous happens *crosses fingers*).

Project Work is really stressful with all the deadlines. I'm so happy that my group's project is finally shaping up! =D Hopefully the proposal got accepted =)

If you're wondering what's with the title of this entry, well, it's about the new movie by M. Night Shyamalan (the director who likes to give us oh-my-gawd twists for endings, whether in a stupid manner, or in amazement). I watched the trailer today, and I was soooo disappointed. The movie, Lady in the Water, is actually in my 2006 Wanted-To-Watch movies. By the way, for movies on this list, I will watch regardless of reviews and ratings from my trusted sources hehe (for example The Prestige, which has Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman, and the Departed, which is a remake of Infernal Affairs). However, now I doubt whether I'll watch Lady in the Water. The trailer doesn't increase my interest for the movie, it instead makes me laugh (hallo, it's supposed to be a horror movie haha). So, unless the lady could come out with better idea on what to do in the movie, she should just stay in the swimming pool lah haha (watch the trailer and you'll understand). Anyway, the recent trailer for Pirates 2 is not as good as the previous one. Nevertheless, I'll still watch that movie regardless of what (since Mrs. McDepp will drag me to the theatre haha =P just kidding).

I'm so happy that Noise Singapore has been launched again for this year. I'm actually kind of interested in the application for Apprenticeship scheme. We'll see how it goes =)

Later guys. Take care.

Melancholic

It's weird that I see some of my past behaviour being reflected on others...

Sometimes I feel that I've grown up too fast...

Speaking of growing up, I can't believe that the house owners of Horizon Tower, which is a condominium opposite my building, have been offered the chance to sell their flats as part of a negotiation by a potential developer company. I can't imagine myself saying bye bye to my flat when such situation happens to my family in the future.. :s

Sad, sad, sad.
